1247. AESOP’S FILM FABLES (1921-1927-USA)
1. L. THE WAR BRIDE (1922). A LOVE-SICK BOY MOUSE ARDENTLY PURSUES HIS FEMALE COUNTERPART. A FAT CAT, GARBED IN A CAPE AND TOP HAT, ATTEMPTS TO STEAL HER AFFECTIONS, BUT ALL IS DISRUPTED WHEN WAR IS DECLARED. THE MOUSE USES HIS INGENUITY NOT ONLY TO SURVIVE THE CONFLICT BUT TO DEFEAT THE ENEMY-AND RETURN TO HIS BELOVED.
2. IN AGAIN-OUT AGAIN {1927). A BARNYARD-FULL Of ANIMALS FIND THEMSELVES IN JAIL, AND ARE GUARDED BY A PINT-SIZED MOUSE. THE CONVICTS ATTEMPT TO SEDUCE HIM WITH A MORSEL Of CHEESE. WHEN HE FORGETS HIS DUTY, THE ANIÂMALS RUN RIOT AS THEY MAKE THEIR ESCAPE.
1. FABLE Of THE |OLLY ROUNDERS (1923). A PAIR Of TIPSY HIPPOS GET BOOTED OUT Of A BAR. THE WIFE Of ONE A WAITS WITH A ROLLING PIN; BE TRIES TO OUTSMART HER, AND THEN INCUR HER JEALOUSY, BUT HE FAILS BECAUSE, AFTER ALL, “THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE IS THE FOOT THAT RULES THE WORLD.”
2. WOLF AND THE KID (1921). A BOSSY, BULLYING BANDIT WOLF HUNGERS FOR-AND IS OUTSMARTED BY-A NOT-SO INNOCENT BABY IAMB, PROVING THAT “HE WHO PLAYS THE OTHER FELLOW’S GAME IS SURE TO LOSE.”
3. CAPTA1N KIDDER (1922). A LITTLE DOG HAS A FIELD DAY PLAYING NUMEROUS PRANKS ON OTHER ANIMALS. YET WHEN HE FINDS HIMSELF IN GREAT DANGER, NOT A CAT OR GOAT OR MOUSE WILL COME TO HIS ASSISTANCE.
4. RURAL ROMANCE (1924). A CAT KIDNAPS A GIRL MOUSE FROM HER BOY MOUSE LOVER. AFTER A FURIOUS CHASE, AND AGAINST ALL ODDS, THE DETERMINED AND PERSISTENT LITTLE RODENT EMERGES VICTORIOUS.
