1. WANDERING WILLIES (1926-USA). Supervised by MACKSENNETT Billy Bevan, whose trademark was his brush mustache, and sidekick Andy Clyde star in this side-splitter as Percy Nudge and Dusty Duncan, a pair Of indescribably inept street bums. Percy and Dusty lust after everything from cigarette butts to watermelons, and will do anything from faking a baby’s drownÂing lo impersonating said infant to dressing up as a cow in order to hustle a free meal. Billy doing battle with an ornery bowl Of soup(!) Is alone worth the price Of admission. Plus, at the finale, there’s a wild car chase with the one and only Keystone Kops.
2. THE RAILROAD STOWAWAYS (1926-USA). Supervised by MACK SENNETT. Billy and Andy play an ungainly duo who are incapable Of holding down jobs. They are fired from their most recent ones as picture framers and, eventually, find themselves as non-paying train passenÂgers. Instead Of sitting quietly and blending into the scenery to avoid paying the fares they cannot afford, these boys will do all they can to comically harass conductors, dining car personnel and passengers.
3. BATH TUB PERILS (1917-USA). Supervised by MACK SENNETT. In this risquŽ laugh riot, portly Fred Mace plays a hotel proprietor who would rather flirt with pretty girls than remain under the thumb Of his stodgy wife. She sends him to his room as if he is a little boy, but he soon finds himself accidentally playing musical bathrooms with a pretty bride who is on her honeymoon (and whose husband is inclined to be insanely jealous). “Silent” films with original organ score, correct projection speed. 59 minutes total.
