1620. Submarine Alert (1943-usa). Richard Arlen, Wendy Barrie, Roger Pryor. The time is World War II, and tanker after tanker transporting oil to Allied bases overseas is being systematically torpedoed. Someone has been relaying information on their departure times and routes to the enemy off shore with a secret, portable radio transmitter. The FBI is perplexed, and so they start a last-ditch effort to find the transmitter. Some of the top radio brains in the country are fired from their jobs – including Lew Deerhold, who happens to be German-born. He’s hired by the Nazi operatives, and the action heats up as he slowly gets wise to his predicament 68 minutes. Spy Drama
